Welcome to Greater Dandenong Volunteer Resource Service
The Victorian Government has implemented Stage 4 restrictions and is directing all Victorians to stay at home to limit the spread of COVID-19. In line with this direction, the GDVRS office at 39 Clow St, Dandenong is currently closed. We are committed to delivering a service to the community and as such have adapted the service we offer. All volunteer referral interviews, Network meetings, manager and volunteer training are occurring online. GDVRS are offering our services 5 days per week.

The Greater Dandenong Volunteer Resource Service is a joint initiative between South East Volunteers and the City of Greater Dandenong.
The Greater Dandenong Volunteer Resource Service operates 5 days per week, offering a personalised service through either online or phone interviews, to assist organisations in finding the right volunteer. During the COVID19 pandemic, we are not currently offering a face to face service, but continue to offer the same level of support to potential volunteers and volunteer involving organisations.
We screen and train volunteers for placement within local community organisations, creating a strong community sector. In addition, we deliver training to managers who work with volunteers so that volunteers receive strong support. Currently through the COVID19 pandemic, we are offering this training online.
The opportunities through voluntary work are many and varied. Not-for-profit organisations include volunteers in roles related to arts, culture, education, environment, health, emergency services, sport and international development. Volunteers might be involved in research, retail sales, home maintenance or food preparation. Volunteers can be any age or nationality and are invited to discover the number of opportunities available to them.
We aim to provide a high quality, responsive service that provides positive experiences for volunteers and agencies in search of volunteer support.
Our volunteer referral interviews are by appointment so please call South East Volunteers on 9562 0414 to schedule a time to discuss volunteer opportunities suitable for you.
We offer a broad range of services that are free for both volunteers and managers of volunteers, including:
- volunteer referral interviews
- information brochures
- training workshops for volunteers
If you are interested in voluntary work, please contact us to make an appointment time for an interview and we will help find appropriate volunteer work for you. Alternatively, to browse volunteer roles that are available through the GDVRS, visit Go Volunteer.
Are you a not-for-profit organisation?
If you’ve answered yes, we can assist your not-for-profit organisation to find suitable volunteers for you. We support Community Service Organisations registered in areas such as:
